Since joining FitClub, the simple fact that I have more energy is great. I have noticed my strength improving, more energy and my clothes fitting better. I am taking baby steps and making bigger effort by eating healthier and teaching my family to do the same. Not only has FitClub made a great change in my health and weight, but also my family is making the effort. Even though I am tired by the end of my shift, once I get to FitClub class I somehow regain energy and enjoy the workouts.

I joined FitClub at Cedars Sinai to improve my self esteem, lose weight, increase my level of fitness and to give me more energy.  It was my hope that I could better care for and keep up with my family.

Before I signed up to FitClub, I noticed my breathing patterns had changed and I was waking up in the middle of the night trying to catch my breath. I began to worry about my health and what would happen to my family if I was to get sick and not be able to care for them.

Life before FitClub was very sedentary. I would work long hours and come home to my family with no energy left. There were times I would sit on my couch to read with my children and then the next thing I knew my husband would be waking me up to go to bed.

I was not exercising I would try my best to eat healthier, but not always was a success.

I have been taking FitClub classes for three months and love every minute of it. The biggest improvement however, is my posture and strength. At first I always wanted to be “skinny,” but now I want to be fit, healthy, and obtain the strength in my body. After I get home I am able to stay awake and have family time without yawning or falling asleep as I read to my children. Also, I occasionally take my son to the classes. I never paid attention if he would see the type of exercises we do in class, until one day he said “mama, when we go to Target I want you to buy me little kettle bells and dumb bells so I can exercise.” I get very excited to hear him say he wants to try certain exercises and that he understands the importance of exercising.

Without the support of my husband, I probably would not be participating. Juggling work, home, and activities with my children can be a bit complicated. But my husband is always ready to help me with home chores, homework with my son and able to take the kids to their activities. He is always encouraging me to get fit and to try even if the kettle bell is too heavy. I just hope that Cedars-Sinai continue to offer these courses. I am very pleased and thankful that I have great trainers like Jeff, Andrew, and Amber and the entire FitClub team. The team takes their time to teach me how to properly do the exercises and constantly cheering me as I do my exercises. Woo Hoo FitClub!!!
